That golden light, that marvelous contrast of Italia’s afternoon.

Vreeland successfully draws for you a physical and emotional portrait of an artist who would be remembered vreelanf after her lifetime.

This book is based on the true story of Artemisia Gentileschi, a woman ahead of her time since her passion for painting overcame all the turbulences of her private life.

I first read one of Vreeland’s books when I was in middle school Girl in Hyacinth Blueand ,a remember enjoying it very suxan. She gave absolutely zero fucks about what people thought, or the snide and sniveling remarks her husband and peers made. At a time when women went around veiled, I woudl have thought that to be a bit extraordinary.

Vreeland’s writing is nothing special — not particularly artistic or out-of-the-ordinary, pzssione workaday language that gets the job done.
