Seem to recall something about cutting it when you are trying to get two PSU’s to output 24V in series.

I get about 7V on fatasheet 12V and 3V on the 5V for a second and then it dies. Be sure and measure the AC across C1 and C2 which should be the same. Thats a bit close to the 25V rating of C There are 2 ceramic power resistors. You’d toast a polar cap in minutes. Best to come up with a substitute supply.
Not sure if connecting this is a good idea, with that Auxiliary PSU powering part of jr3m02. Yea, without a schematic I’m clueless at this point.
I will try to do a circuit diagram tomorrow of this part of the circuitand point them out. Then check the comparator ICs, each probably contains two or more comparators, each has two inputs and one output.
Today I have de-soldered the bridge and replaced it with another, still same deal. The datasheet i found for it is dreadful quality. I would still advise trying the caps Paul mentioned 1st.

The DC is then converted to high-frequency AC usually between 25 and dtaasheet KHz and fed into a lr3m02 high-frequency transformers don’t need nearly as much iron as line-frequency ones do. I have sketched out some of the PSU diagram and I am a bit confused: I had been stuck all afternoon on a TV tough-dog problem.
Thanks all of you for your help so far. A simple ohmmeter test between the common rail and each output should determine if there are any shorted filter caps. If they are unequal, that AC might be subtracted across T1.

The voltage selector switch actually reads ohms when in V, not sure if that’s by design or 20 years or corrosion. I would first replace all smoothing caps on the 5V rail, most likely the four large ones at the upper right of the first pic.
Ive got a bit of a headache right now so i will investigate it later. One time a coworker and I were doing overtime work in the evening. Each of T2 and T3 is connected to a power transistor, and the other side of T2 and T3 lead back to the control circuitry. With AC i get maybe V. Annoyingly i sold a big box of transformers on ebay about a month ago that i though i would never use. What if there is a short on the secondary of T1?
I should really add a switch to set the ground point. You might need to desolder the D1 bridge to measure with a diode check because of the capacitors and T1. A scope in DC mode would be required to measure voltages during the short on-time of the supply. I think your voltage doubler circuit is unbalanced due to an open main cap or maybe an open thermistor?
I had a look through my parts bin, to find a 2. I am going to replace them though. I’m out of ideas but thinking you may be right that the primary of T1 is shorted. If you’ve got a DMM with a capacitance scale, lift one of the legs from the board and verify the value.
Its the original Full AT style like in the I don’t think any caps are shorted, just open. This leads me to believe that, there is something wrong in the output section. That’s like an 80V loss which seems to be the increase you are ir302 across the caps so maybe the excess current is passing thru the rectifier bridge. That can’t be right.
However when I first connect the probes it did jump to about 30V then went to 0V. Your AC should be plugged into the other connector where the fuse is.
