Given that Johann Lamont has made it clear that many of the things that make Scotland different such as free personal care etc are all up for review. Finally the level of discussion so far doesn’t seem very high, like the referendum on propertional representation was badly done. If you can buy that Google Glass like technology will exist and function okay-ish in the next 5 years, then you need not make any further speculative leaps to buy what this book is selling.

I probably will write another near-future Scottish police procedural by and by, but chwrles won’t be a sequel to the first two except in the loosest sense. The plot was complicated and I’m still not sure if I feel like all my questions are answered.
From memory it’s been a few yearsthe notion mentioned in the title does come up. Obviously, like now, these in-game item The first, and eponymous, novel in the Halting State series — Charles Stross ‘s stories set in a slightly futuristic Edinburgh. I therefore conclude that there is simply no point in my starting to write a near-future politically astute crime thriller set in Scotland before I know the outcome of those votes especially as it couldn’t be published before mid A simple, easily understandable US Federal tax code.

It’s rare in a book with mul Another from my list hxlting books in second person. I did like Stross’ ideas about what a highly electronically connected world will look like, and how handicapped everyone will when they have to turn it all off.
I believe so and intend to include this book in my reread list, where that charming dialect will surely flow trippingly across my mind. As for Scottish devolution, I have to constantly remind myself that hardcore UK federalism proponents are socialists, unlike in the US where they’re reactionaries.
